A LOVELY DAY IN LORNE

Yesterday I had a lovely day in Lorne. It is always so relaxing to head down there this time of the year when it is not busy.
First of was a lovely walk along the beach. The Lorne Beach is such a lovely clean beach.

And of course you cannot go to the beach without seeing seagulls.
Then at the end of the day, it was home to work.

PLAYING WITH CARDS & GIFT TAGS

Some more gift tags! What do you think, I love the white on the dark background.

Yesterday, I had some fun making a couple of cards. I made the pink one first, and was so excited I quickly made the orange one to see how a different image would look. Cannot wait to get back to them on Monday.

WELCOME "FRY"

This little kitten was bought home from the dairy 3 weeks ago. He is very cute, and should be able to lap up his milk, but no, he likes to be nursed and fed with an eyedropper. His Mum had obviously lost him as he was found wedged between two pieces of steel, so hubby and kids decided that he needed a second chance of life. He got a third chance of life, when he got shut in the fridge one night. We could hear a distressed meow and couldn't work out where it was coming from till I opened the fridge door and here he was on the ledge infront of the vegetable crisper. The kids have called him "Fry" which is short for "Small Fry".

FRIENDSHIP QUILT NOW COMPLETE

Well, I am so happy to be able to say that the Friendship Quilt that I have been working on is now complete. I am very happy with the colours that I have used, they have worked together nicely. I wasn't really sure about the greyish/black to start with, but I think it has worked very well. I hope the girls will be happy with it, and it has a long and happy life with it's now owner.

FRIENDSHIP QUILT ALMOST DONE!!!!

Yesterday, I got back onto the friendship quilt that I have been busy working on. It was getting closer to being completed when I got to doing the quilting on the purple strip of the last corner square and
the last row of stitching on the purple strips on the border. Now the question was, did I have time then to make the binding and put it on the quilt.

The answer was yes. So, last night I sat and cut off all the threads from the quilting, pinned the binding down and actually started to hand stitch the binding down. WOW, ALMOST THERE.
Hopefully by the end of the day it will be done, so come back tomorrow to see if I have posted the final picture of the quilt completed.

This is my latest Journal cover. I have covered this journal for putting technique notes into when I do them with my girls at class. They have all made one for themselves too.

MY VALENTINE DAY EFFORTS

I picked this lovely rose out of my garden. It is called Careless Love and it was gown from a cutting off a cutting, and probably off another cutting and another cutting, but the original bush was in my Nanna's garden. I added a bowl of chocolates to the menu for Valentines Day this year, and decorated the handle with one of my handmade gift tags.
The tradition in our house for Valentines Day is that I make Heart Shaped biscuits, and usually a Heart shaped sponge, but I did not have time for that today, as I was on school canteen, and that is an all day affair these days. Then Eleanor, our youngest, had work after school and then dancing, so it was biscuits only that I could make yesterday.

A BIT OF THIS AND A BIT OF THAT

These gift tags a slightly different to the ones that you have been seeing. These ones I have printed on a gelatine plate and added some more gorgeous twine (which I received in the mail today). I just love this twine it is from the Craft Queen.
I finally got around to making a start on quilting the friendship quilt that I made a couple of weeks ago. Bit by bit I will get there, but I am glad that I waited and thought about how I was going to quilt it. Keep a watch out for the finished quilt.

2 MORE JOURNALS

Here are the next two journals that I have covered. Both of these are orders and have gone off to their rightful owners. I love doing these. I have used my Stampin Up Designer Series Paper, my lovely Stampin Up bird punch and some stampin up ribbon along with a couple of other ribbons.

MY GOODNESS, THE NAKED LADIES ARE OUT

The poor naked ladies don't know if they are coming or going! Here it is the beginning of February and they are putting on a show already. There is definately an autumn feel in the air - especially in the mornings. And, have you noticed how many dragonflies are buzzing around.

CATCHING UP ON GIFT GIVING

I have finally got around to finishing off a couple of gifts for special people who have already had birthdays this year, but because life has been more than busy, I am running a bit behind, but you know what they say -- better late than never!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have wrapped the gifts in brown paper and added some gorgeous twine that I got from The Craft Queen, and tied them off with one of my gift tags. Quite a nice look don't you think?

A LOVELY SUNRISE

On peeping out the window this morning to see what the day was going to be doing, I was greated by this lovely sunrise, so thought I should share it with you.

PLAYING WITH MY GELATINE PLATE

Yesterday, I did some printing with my gelatine plate. I used some lace and printed the red onto these gift tags, then stamped over the top of them. Quite like the look, what do you think?
