A BUSY WEEK

Where has April gone, it is almost over. I hope you have all enjoyed your Easter/Anzac break.
Yesterday morning was a very foggy morning for the early morning services for Anzac day, although this photo was taken around 9 am when there was still a very heavy fog around. It did clear to be a beautiful day though, and guess what, I was stuck inside stripping wallpaper off a bedroom wall. What an awful job. I have never done it before, and I hope I don't have to do it again, even though I know that wallpaper is the new trend (just like it was 30 years ago!).

The thing that amazes me on foggy mornings is that the spiders have been out at work over night, check out my cloths line. And if you look hard enough in this photo (try clicking on it to enlarge it) you will see a spider web hanging between two trees. Simply amazing!

Saturday, after having my studio open for a couple hours (as part of the Birregurra/Beeac Studio opening weekend), I went for a quick drive down to Lorne to have a look at their Patchwork Exhibition. These girls amaze me, there is no more than a dozen girls in the group and they put on a small but lovely display. So many new quilts every year. And a different theme each year. This year was the third exhibition that I have been to, and I hope to be able to see many more.

Last Thursday night I was busy making these flower brooches for the Beeac Children Hospital Appeal Family Fun Day. There were so many activities and stalls, it was a great day. Beeac is a small country town with a population of around 300 and they managed to raise in excess of $16,000. A great effort by all who organised the day.

Peter & Lucy's Engagement Party

Last night I got back from a wonderful weekend in Port Macquarie with my sister Dianne and her family. I flew up on Friday to help celebrate the engagement of my nephew Peter and his lovely bride to be Lucy. It was also a great opportunity to catch up with other neices and nephews, their partners and my Dad and his friend Norma and my brother-in-law Robert and his family. This is the engagement card that I made for Pete and Lucy. I happened to find out that they both like Blue, so I used this as the main colour.

This is a journal that I made for Lucy to keep all of her wedding plans in so that she isn't jotting things down on bits of paper. She can keep everything together.

This is the lovely couple Peter and Lucy, cutting the cake. My niece Megan made the cake and decorated them, with a little help from her mum with the baking and myself with the decorating, but they were Megan's idea and they looked fabulous.

MORE CARDS, AND WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SUNSET -- AGAIN

Check out this sunset. I just had to stop cooking tea last night and run out and snap this, it was absolutely spectacular.

Just imagine how hot that sun would be!!!!
Here are some more cards that I made yesterday. Have been wanting to have a play making these pansies for a while now and I was really happy with the way they turned out. They are so much fun to do.

Last Wednesday night I was heading in to Colac for the Colac Quilters Pot Luck night, which was a great night by the way, but whilst I was driving in, I just had to stop and take this photo of the sun setting. It was just spectacular.
Have been playing with some more cards during the week. Thought I would try some black and white ones, and I was very happy with the result.
Yes, Fry is still with us. Here he is, curled up in a ball, sleeping in the middle of the kitchen floor. Must have been a warm spot on the floor don't you think, as they always seem to find the warmest spots.
This is the Animal Quilt that I have been working on, all finished, and it will be going to its new owner tomorrow afternoon. Gee, I hope she likes it.
