LATEST CARD DESIGN

Thought I would show you a look at my latest card design. I am going to have some fun making these dresses.

If you look closely, you can see that I have added a little cut out flower on each scallop of the hem and top of dress, then I added a little pearl to the flower.

I tried something different with the envelopes to go with these cards -- I have embossed them to match the embossing on the background cardstock.

Will post more photos once I have made them all.

A COUPLE OF PHOTOS FOR YOU

Yesterday morning when I got back from the bus run, here was the cat "Pusscat" perched on the front fence post. Isn't he a poser!

This morning I had to take Gillian (our daughter) into meet the 6.57am train to Melbourne, so she can then catch the Sky Bus out the the airport to go and visit Toby (our son) in Mildura.

By 7.15a.m. this morning the sun was shining brightly, so I think the predicted 37o will be with us today. Would like to think that it wont be, but somehow I think so!!!

LATEST PATTERN -- GILLY'S CUSHION

I have just put a pattern together for this cushion. I know you might look at it and say that is easy peasy, but some people struggle putting zips in the back of cushions, so the instructions are given for a way that I found to be extra easy.

Also, I have given instructions on how I get the frill even all the way around the cushion, another easy peasy stap that takes the stress out of threads breaking etc.

I have called it Gilly's Cushions, as our daughter Gillian wanted to know what I was going to do with it, as I think she has her eyes on it for her bed in her flat, and I did have something like that in mind anyway.

ANOTHER LITTLE FIND....

It happened again, yesterday I went into the Reject Shop to grab some micro-cloth cleaning cloths (I'm getting all domesticated). I was at the register putting through the cloths and some mirror and class cleaning cloths that I found as well. (Thought they were too boring to take a photo of!!!) I just happened to look over to my right and my attention was drawn to this cute toadstool.

How could I resist, I thought that would just go beautifully with my other little toadstools that I have in my garden. So, yes, I had to buy it too. It was a bit like a lolly at the register, but this was a big lolly for someone who doesn't eat lollies!!!! (Well, not many anyway!) Oh, I did buy something else too, but I can't put a photo of it on here, because it is to go in the box of goodies to Rachel this year, and she might be peaking!!!!

WALKING, WALKING, WALKING......

On Tuesday morning I decided that it was time to start getting up early ready for the "getting up earlier" day yesterday for the first day at school. I thought to myself, if I have to get up earlier then I may as well get up a bit earlier and head out for a walk, as the mornings are beautiful. I am walking 3 kms of a morning, then if I can get out again in the evening I do another 3 kms. I know that time could be better spent stitching, but I think I will feel better after a while.

I usually take my camera with me when I head out for a walk just incase I see something that is worth snapping a photo of. As I headed out the gateway this morning I spoted the last of the lovely sunrise in the distance. Pity I wasn't up earlier to catch the whole thing. Oh well, one needs sleep too.

I must say, I was mighty pleased that there was a fence between me and these boys this morning, especially as I was wearing a red t-shirt!

This is the same photo as I was leaving to go for my walk, but this one is when I came back, the sun was up and no more sunrise. Don't really know why I wasn't getting up early to go for a walk in the holidays. Oh, that is right, it was "holidays" for the want of a better word!

FIRST OF THE LAST...................

Yep, that's right, today is the first day of the last year of school. But who is counting. Our youngest has headed off today for her last year of schooling -- Year 12. Although, she keeps reminding me that it is only 10 months, not a year. And, she is right, because come the end of October she will be all finished and starting exams. Then, the big wide world will hit her, and she will then know how good she has had it at school.

She has asked me a few times "After 18 years of driving them to the school bus what will I do with myself?". My reply -- "I don't think there will be any worries about that at all".

The only other hurdle that we have to get through is the "P" plates, and that will happen after she turns 18 in April.

It is quite a milestone for her to be going into year 12, as she was born 9 week prem and weiged only 1.606kgs when she was born, so to see her heading into her last year of school is quite something for me.
