Fascinator Fun

Yesterday I spent an hour with my lovely neighbour
who is going to a dinner tonight and she has to wear
a touch of camouflage.
So I set about making this fascinator for her.
She found some great ribbon which was good for a base,
then it was out to the chook pen to see what feathers
could be found from the chooks, guinea fowl and
anything else that had shed feather over the last
few days.
This is what we came up with.

Monkey Business

I love making these cute monkeys for baby gifts.
I have been a bit behind with the gifts, so I  now
have caught up, and have spares.

These cute monkeys are Magoo - designed by
the clever girls at Melly & Me.

Rag Quilts

There is something about rag quilts.
They are just so cozy and warm.

This quilt I made for a gift using
two charm packs that worked
together.  I had bought fabric
from the ranges, so that one
day I could do something with
the charm packs.  One of these
pieces I used to border and bind
 the quilt.

The other piece I used to back the quilt with.

Baby Blankets

While I'm catching up with my blog
I should add these pics too.
This baby blanket was sent up
to Port Macquarie last year to
welcome Angus Franklin into
our family.

This blanket was done for an order.
This pic is a close up of the cute
little octopus.  They were so
cute to add into the underwater
design.

This is a pic of the completed
blanket.

Max

Here are a couple of the very cute
Max Monkeys that I have made
recently -- one went to Perth and
the other to Ballarat.

The clever girls at Melly & Me
designed these cute monkeys and
I just love them.

Tanya & John's Wedding Invitations

Tany and John had a lovely theme
for their wedding invitations,
wishing well & place cards.

They carried the theme through
onto their serviette cuffs.
I also printed menus for
the guests.

More of Teagan & Justin's Invitations

This is the invitation that
Teagan and Justin
decided on.

Teagan & Justin's Invitations

I loved making up samples for Teagan & Justin's
wedding that was held in West Wyalong.

Teagan is my cousin's daughter, and with
the technology that we have these days
it is so easy to work with people who
live a distance away.

Wedding Invitations

It was my pleasure to be able to assist
Bethany & Ricky with their wedding
invitations.

I sat down with them to discuss
what they might like.............

From there I went about making up
some samples for them to choose
 from.............

You will see the theme of
the pretty doily.

And the theme of a sleve on the
invitatons to be able to slip the
RSVP card in with the invite.

It was up to them to sit down and
 go through the samples.

Then get back to me once they
decided what they would like.

This is the invitation that
they decided on.

Along with handmade envelopes.

Wedding Bags, coathangers and horseshoe

So the wedding I have been doing all the sewing for was on Saturday.  It was a beautiful wedding.

This is the horseshoe that I made for the bride.
Horseshoes are always the last minute sewing before a wedding - usually the night before.

These cute little bags were for the bridesmaids.
Their dresses were a beautiful floral and these
bags matched their shoes.  They looked lovely.

These pretty coathangers were for
    the bridesmaids to hang their
                   dresses on.

Mother of the bride bags...................

My daughter's girlfriend mother could not find a bag to match her shoes, so she gave me her shoes and off I went looking for fabric to match the shoes.

I found this fabric and the gorgeous button and made this bag for her.

Then I decided to make this
one too, so she could have a
 choice.

I wonder which one she will choose?

Wedding Accessories

My daughter is going to be bridesmaid for her girlfriend soon.  I have made these bags for the bride to be.

I made two different styles for her so she could choose which one she wants.

Which one would you choose?

The bag above is out of a great book I purchased from Spotlight.

The bag on the right is designed by
Nicole Mallalieu.

I have also made her this coathanger so that
she has a nice coathanger to hang her dress on.

Stay tuned, I am also making a bag for the mother of the birde
and the bridesmaids.

Can't wait for the wedding, it should be beautiful.
