150 Year Celebrations in Beeac

This weekend just gone saw a great weekend in

down town Beeac. There were aroung the 2,000 people turn out for the day on Saturday (could

have even been more.

The celebrations on Saturday started with a street parade at 11.00 a.m. This is my hubby

driving the 40 year old farm truck in the parade.

He was as proud as punch to be part of it.

These are the old tractors that were in the

parade. Of course there were lots more

things, too many to put up on here.

Then at 2.00p.m. there was an official

opening of this beautiful windmill park, which

the community have been working on for a long

time. Beeac is the home of the windmill. There are 6 windmills, one for each family that made

windmills.

On Sunday after a church service and a bbq lunch

at the Golf Club, I went and had a look at this

beautiful garden. A lovely way to finish the

weekend.

The weekend started with the opening of an art show and an official lauch of a book.

The whole weekend was a real buzz, and even

though I was not born and bred here, Beeac is now home for me, and it was a fabulous weekend.

SIMPLY RED

This is my latest quilt called Simply Red
because it is a very simple nine patch design
and I have used a lovely red fabric for the
nine patch. Pattern is available now.

WELCOME TO MY GARDEN

Isn't Spring a lovely time of the year. Every

thing just looks so fresh and beautiful,

especially after all the rain we have had this

year.

This is where I live down on the farm.

And now that all the daffodils have

finished, the bluebells are flowering

nicely.

One of my favourite flower are pansies.

Look at the happy little faces on these

panolas.

I love having pots of pansies and panola around

the garden this time of the year.

PLAYING WITH STAMPS

For those of you who don't know, I am also

a Stampin' Up Consultant, and just for a little

bit of fun I have been covering Journals using

some of the latest Stampin' Up Designer Series papers. This one uses Newsprint. The lower right hand corner has a small piece of embossed paper that I dragged across the stamp pad to add some colours to the flowers. I embossed the paper with the new "Big Shot" and I can't wait to get some more designs. It is so easy and so much fun.

I covered this journal with paper from the

Love Letters Designer Series paper.

I cut the birds out using the new Two Step

Bird Punch. These new punches are

amazing to use too. I then tied various ribbons

and lace down the spiral of the journal. The

black and white striped ribbon is from the lovely

range of Stampin' Up 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon. The other ribbon is

out of my stash and I just thought it went

nicely and added a bit of variety. The Lace is

out of my lace tin too.

Both journals come blank from Stampin' Up.

I have also been playing with some bookmarks

and using one of the new hostess stamp sets

called Because I Care. This is a lovely stamp

set, and is available to you if you wish to host

a workshop and qualify for a Level 1 Hostess

Set.

This just shows you a closer picture of the

beautiful flower stamp, and once again the

beautiful black and white ribbon.

QUICK TRIP TO SYDNEY

Early on Monday morning, I put my daughter on a coach at 3.30a.m. to go on a trip to Central Australia. I continued on down the Highway myself and caught the 6.10a.m. flight from Avalon to Sydney to visit my Aunt.

It just so happens, that she lives just 10 minutes away from the Craft Depot at Pennant Hills, so that was the only request I had when she asked me what I would like to do whilst I was visiting her.

Oh, there was something else, and that was

to have lunch with my Kindred Spirit, Rachel.

So, on Tuesday morning, we headed off to the

craft depot, and yes, I came out a bit poorer. I

bought all of these beautiful fabrics and the

pattern for the cup cake pincushion. I could

have really gone mad and bought lots more, but

no, I didn't.

Then, it was off to lunch with Rachel, her hubby Adam and one of their daughters Kiara. We enjoyed a lovely lunch together, and it turns out, that Rachel's uncle used to lunch with my uncle. How amazing is that.

One thing I did decide whilst I was in Sydney, is that I am glad that I don't have to live the life of hussle and bussle. Country life if definately the way to go, but it is nice to visit the big smoke from time to time, just to make you appreciate what we have around us.

A BUSY DAY

This morning my hubby arrived home with

the mail, and amongst it was my copy of

Country Threads, Vol. 11 No 2.

Exciting because this one has a profile in

it, and lots of pictures of my work.

Here are some of them.

After a lovely browse of the magazine, I set about

making this little bag, which I have called Ada's

Bag. I have named it after my Nanna, who name

was Eileen Ruby Ada, but known as Ada.

It is for a class at McMahons in Colac and the

pattern will be available after the class has been

completed.
