STITCHING IN THE GOLDFIELDS....

What a lovely weekend I have just had. The lovely ladies at Clocktower Quilters in Camperdown (Vic) have a sub-committee of 4 women who organised a weekend of stitching and friendship for a weekend every year. This year we ventured to Ballarat and spent the weekend at the Mercure Ballarat Hotel and Convention Centre. Once we arrived on Friday it was very busy just moving from the stitching room to have our evening meal, then back to the stitching room until it such time as the eyes would not stay open any longer to stitch, then it was time to leave the stitching room and head back to our rooms for a night's rest.

Saturday was just as busy after rising, showering and getting ourselves organised it was time to head off for a delicious breakfast, then back to the stitching room, then before we knew it, it was time for lunch (you see it hadn't been all that long since we had been for breakfast). After lunch it was back to more stitching and doing the rounds of the tables to see what everyone else was up too with their stitching. Then, before we knew it, it was time to leave the stitching room and head to the dining room for a delicious dinner, then back to the stitching room for show and tell, and you guessed it, followed by more stitching. We managed to stay up a little longer on Saturday night, because you see, we knew that we only had Sunday left to get as much achieved as possible, but once those eyes could not take any more, it was off to our rooms again for a good nights rest (well half a night).

Sunday morning came around quick enough (well for some it was Sunday morning when they went to bed) and once again after a beautiful breakfast it was time to head to that stitching room again.

Then, before we knew it, all good things had to come to an end, and it was time to come home, and for me, head to work for my 3 hour shift.

I took along this year, my hand quilting that I started at the beginning of the year, and I was very happy, I managed to get six blocks quilted.

Sorry, I have no photos to show, I was way too busy stitching and socialising, and even some shopping thrown in there on Saturday afternoon and coffee with my daughter.

Thanks to all the lovely ladies who organised the weekend, and for the friendship from all. See you all next year.
